Doctoral music student Jennifer Peck will be performing a flute recital at 4:00 PM on Sunday, September 13 in Pitman Hall at Catlett Music Center (University of Oklahoma, 500 W Boyd, Norman). Jennifer Peck, flutist, is a native of Oklahoma City. She is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University where she completed a degree in Instrumental Music Education. After OBU, she moved to Boston to earn her Masters degree in Flute Performance from the Boston Conservatory. Ms. Peck spent a year working with the Christian Performing Artists’ Fellowship in Winona Lake, Indiana, where she had the opportunity to perform regularly in their chamber music series as well as play principal flute with the Warsaw Symphony. Ms. Peck also taught general music in an Oklahoma City Charter School for three years. She is now an active free-lance musician, performing occasionally with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Since its formation in the fall of 2008, she has performed frequently in the Dunlap-Peck Duo, a flute and marimba duo. She is currently pursuing a DMA in Flute Performance from the University of Oklahoma, where she teaches Understanding Music. She has been the flute instructor at the Boston Arts Academy, Grace College and Seminary, and Southwestern College in Winfield, KS. Since January of 2009, Ms. Peck has had the privilege of serving as adjunct faculty at OBU in the Fine Arts department.
