I thoroughly enjoyed hearing 2006 American Piano Association Classical Fellow and 2008 gold medalist of the New Orleans Piano Competition Spencer Myer play at MTNA National Conference in Albuquerque and was delighted to find out he would be performing here in Oklahoma. Myer is considered one of the most promising young American pianists today and the Juilliard graduate has an impressive resume as both a solo pianist and chamber musician. You can go to www.spencermyer.com to hear recordings of his performances (under the audio link) and read more about his accomplishments.
So mark your calendars for Friday, April 30, 8PM at the University of Oklahoma Catlett Music Center in Sharp Concert Hall (500 W Boyd, Norman, OK, 73019). Myers will be performing a fun, diverse program, including the music of Handel, Beethoven (the Moonlight Sonata), Schubert, Janacek, and Granados. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, faculty, staff, and senior adults. They can be obtained by calling the OU Fine Arts Box office at (405) 325-4101.
