The University of Oklahoma is celebrating the installation of a beautiful new pipe organ with a Gala on the weekend of Oct. 2-4. Part of this celebration includes a presentation of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf with the new organ on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 10:30AM in Sharp Hall (in Catlett Music Center on campus). Peter and the Wolf is a children’s story that is accompanied by orchestral music that vividly portrays the tale. The orchestral parts will be played on the organ by Jelani Eddington, while John Bishop narrates. Admission is free!

This will be such a fun way to not only see Peter and the Wolf, but to experience an organ of this magnitude that you might not ever normally get to hear! It has taken a year to even install this version of the organ and it is not even installed in its entirety yet.
