You will not want to miss the performance of the British acapella group King’s Singers, whose album Simple Gifts won a Grammy in 2009.  Their repertoire is wide-ranging, from classical to contemporary pop to jazz.  Considered one of the most sought-after vocal ensembles in the world, this sextet’s vocals are incredible, blending as one and performing very difficult music with wonderful intonation.  The King’s Singers world tour will make a stop in Edmond at the John Amos Fieldhouse at Armstrong College on Tues., Feb. 16, 7:30PM. Tickets are available through Armstrong College (www.ArmstrongConcerts.org).

Check out their videos on www.youtube.com. This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-C3G1mMJQUY&feature=related) is a beautiful rendition of Down To the River To Pray. My students learning music history (and others with music history background) will find this video highly entertaining: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXhAz0DOpMU  (You will need to copy/paste website addresses into your browser.)
